[Solved] How to stop fetch query

In FetchXML Builder I have configured it to retrieve every rows and not only 5000 rows by defect. I see that the entity has a lot of rows and my query takes a long time.

How can I abort this query? If I close Xrmtoolbox, is this query continuous sending the call until it finish?

Hi A123

If you are running FXB version 1.2020.5.7 or later, there should be an "Abort" button lighting up when multiple pages are retrieved. (if you are not - you really should update)

Killing XTB will make sure no more requests are sent to the server. When all data (on multiple pages) are retrieved, they are executed one by one so stopping either by hitting Abort, closing FXB, or closing XTB, will ensure no more pages are requested from the server.

Hi Jonas,

Thanks for your answer. I have 1.2018.8.2 version in FetchXML Builder, so thats the reason why I can't see abort button...

Anyway, with my older version if I close or kill XrmToolBox, I will ensure that no more requests will be sent to the server?

@a123 That is correct, if XTB is closed or FXB is closed, they are terminated and cannot send any more requests.

But why are you using an old version that does not have all the new features and bug fixes that have been released?

I strongly recommend to always use latest versions of both XrmToolBox and the tools in it.

(Sorry for slow response, vacation mode == on here)

Hi Jonas, thank you very much for your answer.

It is true... Now I have 1.2020.6.2 version and I can see new functionalities, and also 'Abort' button.
